Air defense systems, shells for HIMARS and Javelin: US announces new $200 million military aid package for Ukraine

The White House is looking for support for Ukraine

The United States has announced a new security assistance package for Ukraine. It amounts to $200 million.

This was announced by the White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby. His words are reported by the Voice of America. Security assistance will include air defense equipment, HIMARS artillery ammunition, mortar shells, and Javelin anti-tank missiles.

This package is allocated within the mechanism of the US President's authority to reduce, i.e. transfer weapons directly from the US Army's warehouses.

It is also noted that the Pentagon is also providing long-term support through the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative fund to strengthen air defense, long-range strike capabilities, and anti-tank capabilities.

The last package of US military aid was announced on July 11. It included only one Patriot air defense system. The United States also promised to provide ammunition for NASAMS and HIMAR air defense systems and other equipment.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, the 45th President of the United States and a candidate in the 2024 presidential election, Donald Trump, if he wins, plans to offer Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to get out of all the occupied territories of Ukraine. Otherwise, he will provide Kyiv with all the necessary state-of-the-art weapons.

Earlier, the 45th President of the United States promised to end the war in Ukraine within "24 hours" if he wins the election. According to some media reports, he plans to put pressure on Ukraine to cede part of its territory to Russia.

Zelenskyy, on the other hand, said that Ukraine would continue to work with the White House regardless of the outcome of the US presidential election. If Trump wins, this work will be "hard," but Ukrainians are "hardworking," the Ukrainian leader said.
