AFU successfully repelled Russian attacks in three directions and continue counteroffensive: 23 military clashes - General Staff
During the day on the front in Ukraine there were 23 combat cl ashes between the Defense Forces and Russian occupation troops. Our defenders repelled the enemy offensive in the Liman, Bakhmut and Maryinka directions.
At the same time, they continue the offensive operation in Melitopol, consolidate on the achieved borders, implement measures of counter-battery warfare. This is stated in the evening summary of the General staff of the AFU in Facebook on August 27.
Russian shelling and the situation on the frontline
On the night of August 27, the occupiers attacked Ukraine with air-launched cruise missiles. Thanks to the successful combat work of the defenders of the sky, the forces and means of the Air Force destroyed 4 cruise missiles.
Also, during the day, the enemy launched 11 missile and 32 air strikes, fired 38 times from multiple rocket launchers at the positions of our troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, Russian terrorist attacks have resulted in civilian casualties and injuries. Residential buildings, schools and other civilian infrastructure were destroyed.
On the Siversky and Slobozhansky directions, the enemy launched an air strike near Kindrativka, Sumy region. He fired mortar and artillery shells at more than 25 settlements, including Khrinivka, Kliusy, and Liskivshchyna in Chernihiv region; Seredyna-Buda, Vilna Sloboda, Semyikyne, Volfyno, Kindrativka, and Sadky in Sumy region; and Okip, Strilecha, Oleynikove, Hatyshche, and Nesterne in Kharkiv region.
In the Kupyansk sector, the enemy conducted air strikes in the areas of Nadiya, Tverdokhlibove and Myasozharivka in Luhansk region. Artillery and mortar attacks were carried out in Kamyanka, Sinkivka, Ivanivka, Kyslivka, Berestove in Kharkiv region.
In the Liman sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives near Novoyehorivka, Luhansk region. More than 10 localities came under enemy artillery fire, including Karmazinivka, Nevske, Chervonopopivka, Kreminna, Kuzmine in the Luhansk region and Torske, Dibrova, Spirne in the Donetsk region.
In the Bakhmut sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives near Klishchiyivka, Donetsk region. More than 10 localities suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Vasyukivka, Markove, Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske, Bila Hora, and New York in the Donetsk region.
On the Bakhmut direction the occupants unsuccessfully attacked in the area of Klishchyivka.

In the Avdiivka sector, Keramik, Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Karlivka, Pervomayske, Nevelske, and Donetsk region came under enemy artillery and mortar fire.
In the Mariinka sector, Ukrainian defense forces continue to hold back the Russian offensive in the vicinity of Mariinka, Donetsk region. The enemy launched an air strike near Krasnohorivka, Donetsk region. Oleksandropil, Gostre, Maryinka, Pobeda, Paraskoviivka, and Vodiane in the Donetsk region came under artillery fire.
In the Shakhtarsk sector, the enemy launched an air strike near Zolota Niva in the Donetsk region. The following localities suffered from enemy artillery shelling: Bohoyavlenka, Shakhtarske, Vremivka, Staromayorske, and Rivne in the Donetsk region.
In the Zaporizhzhya sector, the enemy conducted air strikes in the areas of Mala Tokmachka, Robotyne and Novodanylivka in the Zaporizhzhya region. More than 20 localities suffered from artillery shelling, including Novoandriivka, Olgivske, Chervone, Gulyaypilske, Yehorivka, Mali Shcherbaki in Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson sector, the enemy conducted air strikes in the areas of Mykolaivka, Mykilske and Antonivka in the Kherson region. More than 10 localities suffered from enemy artillery shelling: Zmiyivka, Tomaryne, Burgunka, Tyahynyka, Kherson, Bilozerka and others.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Melitopol sector, consolidating their positions and carrying out counter-battery activities.

Losses of the occupants during the day
Over the course of the day, the aviation of the defense forces carried out 10 strikes on the areas of concentration of the Russians and one on the enemy's anti-aircraft missile systems.
