AFU successfully repelled Russian attacks in four directions and continue counteroffensive on Melitopol: 26 military clashes - General Staff

The Armed Forces of Ukraine actively continue their offensive operation in Melitopol direction. Only for one day there were 26 military clashes.

This is reported by the General Staff of the AFU in Facebook. Ukrainian fighters successfully repelled the attacks of the Russians in four directions.

Over the past day, the enemy launched 10 missile and 54 air strikes on the territory of Ukraine. It fired 31 times from multiple launch rocket systems at Ukrainian troops' positions and populated areas.

"The operational situation in eastern and southern Ukraine remains difficult. There were 26 combat engagements," the statement said.

The operational situation in the Volyn and Polissya sectors remains unchanged.

At the Siversky and Slobozhansky directions, the enemy launched an air strike near Hraniv, Kharkiv region. More than 25 localities came under artillery and mortar fire, including Hremyach in Chernihiv region, Velyka Pysarivka, Pokrovka, Ponomarenky, Chernatske in Sumy region, and Vetarine, Hatyshche, Varvarovka in Kharkiv region.

In the Kupyansk sector, the enemy launched an air strike in the area of Synkivka, Kotlyarivka, Krokhmalne in Kharkiv region. Kolodyazne, Kyslivka, Berestove in the Kharkiv region came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Liman sector, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled enemy attacks near Novoyehorivka, Luhansk region. The enemy launched air strikes near Bilohorivka in Luhansk region and Vesele in Donetsk region. More than 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire, including Nevske and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region and Verkhnekamianske, Spirne and Rozdolivka in Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut sector, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled enemy attacks near Orikhovo-Vasylivka in Donetsk region. The enemy launched air strikes in the areas of Khromove and Northern Donetsk region.

Over 15 localities in Donetsk region came under artillery and mortar fire. In particular:

• Orikhovo-Vasylivka,
• Bila Gora,
• Bohdanivka,
• Klishchiyivka.

In turn, as a result of the assault operations, the Defense Forces have a partial success south of Bakhmut, pushing the enemy out of their positions and consolidating their positions.

In the Avdiivka sector, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled enemy attacks near Avdiivka. The enemy launched an air strike near Avdiivka. More than 15 localities came under artillery and mortar fire, including Oleksandropil, Keramik, Nevelske, Avdiivka and Pervomayske in Donetsk region.

In the Mariinka sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the Russian offensive in the vicinity of Mariinka, Donetsk region. The enemy launched an air strike near Krasnohorivka. Krasnohorivka, Paraskoviivka, and Yelizavetivka in the Donetsk region came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Shakhtarsk sector, the enemy launched an air strike near Urozhayne. More than 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire, including Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Shakhtarske, Zolota Niva, Blahodatne, and Urozhayne in the Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia sector, the enemy conducted air strikes in the areas of Mala Tokmachka and Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia region. More than 10 localities came under artillery and mortar fire, including Olgivske, Levadne, Huliaipole, and Chervone in Zaporizhzhia region.

In the Kherson sector, the enemy launched an air strike near Olhivka. Kherson and Antonivka in Kherson region came under artillery and mortar fire.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces are conducting an offensive in the Melitopol sector, destroying the enemy and liberating the occupied territories step by step.

"During the day, the aviation of the Defense Forces carried out 12 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment and on the positions of enemy anti-aircraft missile systems," the General Staff writes.

Missile and artillery units destroyed 1 ammunition depot, 3 artillery pieces, 2 control points, 1 anti-aircraft missile system and 2 areas of concentration of enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment.

Earlier, analysts at the U.S. Institute for the Study of War reported that the Defense Forces advanced to the village of Verbove, which was previously under the control of the Russian occupiers.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, military expert reserve colonel Petro Chernik expressed the opinion that with the onset of cold weather and rainy weather, the Ukrainian army will continue to launch missile strikes on important logistical facilities of the Russian occupation army, but offensive operations may "slow down." In such conditions, the movement of heavy equipment, particularly tanks, will become impossible.
