AFU repulsed attacks of occupants in the Kupyansk direction, the enemy is trying to integrate the captured territories into its infosphere - General Staff

Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Defense Forces have clashed with Russian troops in more than 20 combat clashes. The defenders successfully repulsed the enemy's attacks east of Berestovoye in Kharkiv region and continue to hold back its offensive in the areas of Maryinka and Pobeda.

At the same time, the occupants do not stop illegally integrating the temporarily seized territories into their information environment. The latest news from the front was reported by the General Staff of the AFU in the morning report for July 31.

Tonight the Russian Federation launched a missile strike on the city of Kharkiv, and over the past 24 hours it carried out four missile strikes, 42 air strikes and 76 shellings from multiple rocket launchers on the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of the Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population and residential buildings have been destroyed.

The situation in the Volyn and Polissya sectors remained unchanged. In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi sectors, the enemy fired mortar and artillery shells at more than 40 localities, including Senkivka and Buchky in Chernihiv region; Seredyna-Buda and Prohres in Sumy region; and Vovchansk and Budarky in Kharkiv region.

In the Kupyansk sector, our soldiers are holding steadfastly and successfully repelled the occupiers' attacks east of Berestove in Kharkiv region. Artillery and mortar attacks by the enemy took place in Figolivka, Novomlynsk, Zakhidne, Kindrashivka, Kupyansk and Kyslivka in Kharkiv region.

In the Liman sector, the Russian Federation Armed Forces conducted air strikes near Bilohorivka in Luhansk region and Ivanivka, Serebryanka, and Spirne in Donetsk region. They shelled Nevske and Bilohorivka, Torske, Spirne, Berestove and Rozdolivka.

In the Bakhmut sector, the invaders conducted air strikes in the areas of Klishchiyivka, Bila Hora and Kostyantynivka. More than 20 localities suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Vasyukivka, Klishchiyivka, Predtechine, Kostyantynivka, Bila Hora and Pivnichne.

In the Avdiivka sector, the occupants also attacked from the air in the area of Avdiivka. They shelled more than 15 localities with artillery, including Oleksandropil, Novobakhmutivka, Novokalynove, Avdiivka, Severne, Netaylove and Nevelske in Donetsk region.

In the Mariinka sector, Ukrainian defense forces continue to hold back the Russian offensive in the areas of Mariinka and Pobeda. The enemy fired at more than 10 localities, including Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Pobeda, Novomykhailivka, Heorhiivka and Hostre.

In the Shakhtarsk sector, the occupants launched an air strike near Staromayorske, fired on Blahodatne, Vuhledar and Prechystivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the enemy is focusing its main efforts on preventing further advance of our troops. He launched an air strike near Zmiivka in Kherson region. More than 25 localities came under Russian artillery fire, including Levadne, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Bilohirya and Kamianske in Zaporizhzhia region; Nikopol in Dnipropetrovs'k region; Dmytrivka, Beryslav, Vesele, Antonivka, Kherson, Berehove and Veletynske in Kherson region. At the same time, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to conduct offensive operations in the Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, consolidating their positions.

The aggressor country, the Russian Federation, continues to illegally integrate the temporarily occupied territories into its information environment. Thus, the occupation army arrived in Milove, Luhansk region, to connect the city's telecommunications and Internet network to Russian operators, who are laying communication cables from the territory of Russia.

Over the past day, the aviation of the Defense Forces carried out seven strikes on the areas of concentration of enemy personnel. The defenders destroyed four Shahed-136 attack drones and four reconnaissance UAVs of the operational and tactical level. Missile and artillery units hit an anti-aircraft missile system, eight artillery pieces at firing positions, two electronic warfare stations, and two areas where Russian Armed Forces personnel were concentrated.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, military expert Vladimir Gulima said that the Russian army makes considerable efforts to strengthen the defense of its borders. Often such defense has several levels, in particular, minefields, anti-tank ditches, flooded areas. However, in the areas captured since 2014, the defense lines have been reinforced especially strongly.
