AFU repels dozens of attacks near Avdiivka and Bakhmut: General Staff on the situation on the frontline. Map
There were 95 combat engagements in the frontline over the last day. The fiercest fighting took place in Avdiivka in the Bakhmut sector, where Ukrainian troops repelled many enemy attacks.
Over the last day, aviation and missile troops hit almost 20 concentration areas and two ammunition depots of the occupiers. Details of the situation at the front on May 9 were disclosed in the morning report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On May 9, Russian invaders launched 6 missile and 80 air strikes, as well as fired from multiple launch rocket systems at the positions of our troops and populated areas 127 times.
At night, the Russian occupiers once again attacked Ukraine with 10 Shahed UAVs. Ukrainian Air Defense Forces destroyed all the attack drones.
Over the past 24 hours, the following localities were attacked: Bilopillia, Kostiantynivka, and Sadky in the Sumy region; Vesele, Vovchansk, and Vovchansky Khutory in the Kharkiv region; Lyman, Verkhniokamianske, Druzhba, Spirne, Kalynove, Umanske, and Bohoiavlenka in the Donetsk region.
More than 120 settlements in Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions came under artillery fire.
The situation in the Volyn and Polissia sectors remains unchanged. The enemy still maintains a military presence in the border areas, conducts sabotage activities to prevent the deployment of our troops to threatened areas, and increases the density of minefields along the state border in the Siversk and Slobozhansk directions.
Fierce fighting continues in the east and south. Over the past day, 95 combat engagements took place.
For instance, in the Kupiansk sector, our troops repelled 13 attacks in the vicinity of Synkivka, Petropavlivka, and Berestove in the Kharkiv region and Stelmakhivka in the Luhansk region.

In the Lyman sector, Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled 4 attacks near Novosadove and Torske in the Donetsk region; and Serebriansky forestry in the Luhansk region.

In the Bakhmut sector, our troops repelled 21 attacks in the areas of Bilohorivka in the Luhansk region; and Verkhniokamianske, Novyi, Rozdolivka, Ivanivske, Stupochky, Klishchiivka and Andriivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka sector, our troops repelled 28 attacks in the areas of Kalynove, Novooleksandrivka, Sokil, Novoselivka Persha, Umanske, Yasnobrodivka, and Netaylove in the Donetsk region.

In the Novopavlivka sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the vicinity of Kostiantynivka, Vodiane and Urozhaine in the Donetsk region, where the enemy tried to break through the defense of our troops 7 times.

In the Orikhiv sector, the enemy attacked the positions of our defenders near Staromaiorske in the Donetsk region and Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region 19 times.

In the Kherson sector, the enemy does not abandon its intention to drive our units from the footholds on the left bank of the Dnipro River. Thus, over the past day, they unsuccessfully attacked the positions of our troops twice.

Meanwhile, our soldiers continue to actively inflict losses on the occupation forces in manpower and equipment, depleting the enemy along the entire front line. Yesterday, the aviation of the Defense Forces and missile troops struck 1 radar station, 2 ammunition depots, 1 air defense facility and 17 areas of concentration of enemy personnel.
As a reminder, the day before, on May 9, the Armed Forces neutralized 980 occupants. Less than 300 invaders are left to reach the figure of 480 thousand eliminated occupants.
In total, the enemy army lost 218 pieces of military equipment and weapons, including 47 artillery systems.
