AFU regains previously lost positions in the Kupiansk direction - General Staff
Despite the fact that the Kupiansk area is considered "hot" and the enemy attacks here constantly, Ukrainian defenders not only did not lose any positions but also made some progress. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, citing data as of 23:00 on May 14.
In total, the enemy stormed the positions of our troops in the Kupiansk sector 16 times, and in some places "the fighting continues." In particular, the Russians attacked in the areas of Lyman Pershyi - Synkivka, Vilshanka - Synkivka, Vilshanka - Petropavlivka, Kyslivka - Ivanivka, Krokhmalne - Berestove, Kolomyichyha - Stelmakhivka, Kolomyichyha - Miasozharivka, Kovalivka - Novoiehorivka, and Ploshchanka - Makiivka.
"The enemy has no success. In addition, our troops have regained previously lost positions and improved their tactical position in certain areas," the General Staff noted.
Also, in the Lyman and Kramatorsk sectors, "no losses of positions were allowed," and in the latter our troops "took measures to improve the tactical situation and were successful." The situation is under control in the Siversk sector, where 4 combat engagements are still ongoing.
In the Kurakhove sector, 2 combat engagements are still ongoing.
In the Vremivsk sector, our troops also took measures to improve the tactical situation and were successful.
In the Pokrovsk sector, our troops repelled 33 attacks, and 7 more combat engagements are ongoing. In some areas, our units changed their positions to save lives and improve the tactical situation.
