On September 6, the Russian occupation army continued offensive operations in the Donetsk region but did not achieve any confirmed success. In turn, Ukrainian troops regained positions in the Pokrovsk direction.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces regained positions in the southwest of Halytsynivka and the west of Mykhailivka (both southeast of Pokrovsk). This is stated in the analysis of the Institute for the Study of War.

Kremlin propagandists claimed that a Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group had reached the outskirts of Hirnyk (southeast of Pokrovsk), although ISW did not observe any confirmation or wider coverage of this claim. It was also reported that the occupants continued their offensive operations west of Donetsk on September 6, but there were no confirmed changes on the front line. The enemy attempted to attack southwest of Donetsk in the area of Kostiantynivka, Staromorske, Vuhledar and Vodiane.

At the same time, the occupiers have recently advanced towards Toretsk. Geolocation footage released on September 5 further clarified the visually confirmed maximum length of the Russian front line of its own troops in the northern and eastern part of New York. Ukraine's Azov Brigade claimed on September 6 that its defenders had regained control of an unspecified part of New York.

The ISW maps show maximalist Russian attacks in areas where analysts estimate that the occupiers have been operating or have launched attacks but do not control them. In turn, Russian propagandists complain that Ukrainian forces have launched a counterattack in the area of Toretsk and New York and that the Armed Forces have reserves to influence the pace of the Russian offensive in this area.

In the Kramatorsk sector, the occupants continued offensive operations in the direction of Chasiv Yar but did not achieve any confirmed success. Russian troops continued offensive operations in the area of Chasiv Yar, Hryhorivka, Ivanivske and Bila Hora.

As a reminder, Russian occupation forces have slowed down the fighting in the area of Pokrovsk. The invaders began preparing for defensive actions there.

Earlier, it was reported that the terrorist Russian army is conducting an offensive in the Toretsk direction, trying to capture the settlement. Enemy assault actions continue on the outskirts of the city.
