There were 37 combat engagements in the Ukrainian frontline over the last day, during which the Defense Forces repelled occupants' attacks in the direction of Kupyansk, Bakhmut, Avdiivka, Maryinka and in Zaporizhzhia. A series of air strikes were launched against the enemy, destroying their personnel, equipment, and command and control areas.

The defenders continue to conduct offensive operation in Melitopol and Berdyansk directions, where they consolidate on the achieved borders and implement measures of counter-battery warfare. This is stated in the morning summary of the General Staff of the AFU on August 8.

Over the past 24 hours the RF Armed Forces carried out seven missile and 42 air strikes, as well as 66 shellings from multiple rocket launchers on the positions of our troops and settlements. As a result of these terrorist attacks, civilians were killed and wounded, and residential buildings and other infrastructure were destroyed.

The situation in the Volyn and Polissya sectors remained unchanged. In the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi sectors, the enemy fired mortar and artillery shells at more than 30 localities, including Mykhalchyna Sloboda, Hremyach, Khrinivka in Chernihiv region; Basivka, Stepok, Volfine, Pavlivka in Sumy region; Udy, Okhrimivka, Neskuchne, Bochkove, Ambarne in Kharkiv region.

In the Kupyansk sector, our soldiers are holding steadfastly, in particular, they successfully repelled the occupants' attacks in the vicinity of Synkivka, north of Ivanivka in Kharkiv region and south of Novoselivske in Luhansk region. The enemy also launched air strikes near Kruhliakivka and Kucherivka in Kharkiv region. More than 15 localities came under artillery and mortar fire, including Dvorichna, Zakhidne, Petropavlivka, Podoly, Krasne, and Kupyansk Vuzlovyi in Kharkiv region.

In the Liman sector, Kuzmine and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region came under Russian artillery fire; Torske, Verkhnekamianske, Spirne, and Rozdolivka in Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut sector, the Russian army conducted unsuccessful offensives in the areas of Andriivka, Kurdyumivka and Druzhba. More than a dozen localities suffered from its shelling, including Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Ivanivske, Markove, Chasiv Yar in Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka sector, under heavy fire from enemy aircraft and artillery, our defenders successfully repelled the attacks of Russian troops near Avdiivka. However, the occupants shelled this city, as well as Keramik, Nevelske, Novobakhmutivka, Severne, Tonenke, Novokalynove, Pervomayske in Donetsk region with artillery.

In the Mariinka sector, Ukrainian defenders continue to hold back the invaders' offensive in the vicinity of Mariinka. The enemy conducted an air strike there and also shelled Krasnohorivka, Oleksandropil, Horoshne, Heorhiivka, Pobeda, Novomykhailivka and Kostiantynivka in Donetsk region.

In the Shakhtarsk sector, the occupiers launched an air strike near Odradne, fired artillery at Vodyane, Vuhledar, Prechystivka, Zolota Niva, Velyka Novosilka, Blahodatne, Storozheve, Staromayorske and Rivne in Donetsk region.

In the Zaporizhzhia sector, the enemy made unsuccessful attempts to regain lost ground near Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia region. He carried out air strikes near Huliaipilske, Mala Tokmachka and Orikhiv. More than 15 localities came under artillery fire, including Novodarivka, Komyshuvakha, Shcherbaky, Orikhiv, Pyatikhatky in Zaporizhzhia region and Nikopol in Dnipropetrovs'k region.

In the Kherson sector, the Russian army conducted air strikes in the areas of Zmiivka, Tomaryne and Odradokamyanka in the Kherson region. They shelled more than 15 localities with artillery, including Olhivka, Sadove, Prydniprovske, Respublika, Kizomys and Kherson.

Over the past day, the aviation of the Defense Forces carried out nine strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment of the Russian Armed Forces. Ukrainian defenders destroyed an enemy Ka-52 helicopter and two tactical reconnaissance UAVs. Missile and artillery units struck two control points, three areas of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, five artillery pieces at firing positions and two occupiers' radar stations.
