"AFU captured a bridgehead on the left bank of the Dnipro": OP recognized the advance in Kherson region for the first time
Ukrainian defense forces are making progress on the left bank of the Kherson region. Our heroes managed to take a bridgehead on the temporarily occupied left bank of the Dnipro River.
The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andrii Yermak, first confirmed the advance of the defenders in this area on Tuesday, November 14. This happened during his speech at the Hudson Institute, a non-governmental think tank, on The Decisive Moment for Ukraine. The text of Yermak's speech was published on the official website of the department's press service.
"We are strongly committed to the restoration of Ukraine's sovereignty over its entire internationally recognized territory. Against all odds, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have seized a foothold on the left bank of the Dnipro River," the head of the OP said.
He also noted that Ukrainian soldiers are "demilitarizing" the enemy-held Crimea step by step.
"We have covered 70% of the distance. And our counteroffensive continues. We know how to achieve victory," Yermak assured.
He emphasized that the state aims to develop its own defense industry and launch weapons production. However, right now Ukraine needs help from partners because of Russia's full-scale war.
In particular, we need strong air defense, Yermak reminded.
"I'll tell you the truth: this winter will also be difficult for us. They will again resort to terrorist attempts against our citizens, attacking energy networks and infrastructure. But strengthening air defense will be the key to recovery. Ukraine needs a reliable umbrella to rebuild," the head of the OP said.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported:
- Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov did not rule out that Russia's war against our country could last for a long time. Such a development is possible if Moscow refuses to sign any peace treaties with Kyiv. There have been similar precedents in history.
- According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, four missile and 42 air strikes were recorded on November 14 (as of 18:00). More details about the situation on the front line can be found here.
