AFU approached the second line of occupants' defence in the Robotyne area: ISW explained what this means. Map

Ukrainian Defense Forces have approached the second line of defense of the Russian invaders near the village of Robotyne in the Polohivskyi district of the Zaporizhzhia Region. One of the well-known "war correspondents" of the aggressor country expressed concern about this situation and said that this is a critical moment on the battlefield.

The corresponding data the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) presented in a report for August 24. Analysts noted that Ukrainian soldiers further expanded the breakthrough of the Russian Armed Forces' defensive lines in the western part of the Zaporizhzhia region.

ISW drew attention to the footage published on August 24, which can be geolocated. It shows that Ukraine's defenders have advanced further towards the Russian defensive lines west of Verbove (18 km southeast of the town of Orikhiv) and south of Robotyne (10 km south of Orikhiv).

At the same time, some bloggers of the aggressor country claim that the occupants maintain limited positions in the southern part of Robotyne and that fighting continues to the east of the locality.

One of the enemy "war correspondents" believes that the occupants need to hold their positions for at least another month and a half to try to make progress on another section of the front line and try to change the situation on the battlefield in favor of the Russian Federation.

ISW also noted that the Commander-in-Chief of the AFU Valery Zaluzhny responded to criticism of the Ukrainian counteroffensive by referring to the Battle of Kursk, a week-long battle during World War II that eventually allowed the Soviet Army to regain significant portions of territory.
