AFP journalist is injured near Bakhmut: all the details

On Monday, 24 July, 35-year-old American video journalist Dylan Collins was wounded near Bakhmut. He was injured as a result of a Russian drone attack.
This was reported by AFP journalist Stephanie Yousef. The journalist was injured while reporting on the work of Ukrainian artillery near Bakhmut.
Dylan Collins was seriously injured by shrapnel as a result of a UAV attack in a forested area near Bakhmut. He was immediately taken to the nearest hospital, where professional doctors provided him with first aid.
According to the doctors, the AFP journalist's condition is stable: he remains conscious and in contact with his colleagues. His life is not in danger and he is now under the supervision of medical staff.
Christine Boagiar, AFP Europe Director, said that the agency is actively investigating the circumstances of the incident involving the injury of journalist Dylan Collins in a forest near Bakhmut.
It should be noted that Dylan Collins has been working for AFP since 2018 as a video coordinator in Lebanon and Syria, but since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion in February 2022, he has been regularly assigned to Ukraine. The journalist has extensive experience in conflict zones in the Middle East: In 2020, he covered the war in Nagorno-Karabakh.
