On the night of Tuesday, January 28, Russian occupation forces targeted Kharkiv with Shahed drones. A large-scale fire broke out in the city as a result of the enemy attack. According to latest information, the Russians hit a civilian enterprise, namely a woodworking shop.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported about the explosions in the city on Telegram at around 00:40. A hit and a large-scale fire were recorded in the Novobavarskyi district.
Later, the director of the city's emergency department, Bohdan Hladkykh, told Suspilne that a fire broke out at the impact site covering an area of about 1,500 square meters.
"An enemy Shahed drone hit the territory of a civilian enterprise. Preliminary, it was a woodworking shop. The attack damaged the gas pipeline used for production at the enterprise. As a result, a large-scale fire broke out, spreading rapidly," said Hladkykh.
According to him, two people were injured - they had an acute stress reaction. They are not employees of the company, but residents of the surrounding areas.
Oleh Syniehubov, the head of the Regional Military Administration, said that around 00:35 a gas pipe and five cars were damaged in Novobavarskyi district of Kharkiv after a Shahed strike, and a fire broke out. Two people who suffered an acute stress reactions were a 59-year-old woman and a nine-year-old girl.
Two UAVs also caused distruction in the Kyivskyi district of the city, fortunately without any casualties.
At 04:13, a private house and a garage were destroyed in the Rohan community of Kharkiv district as a result of a drone crash, and four other houses were damaged nearby. A 66-year-old man and a 62-year-old woman were injured and hospitalized.
At the same time, a destroyed private house was burning as a result of drone hit in Starosaltivska community of Chuhuiv district. There were no casualties too.
As reported, 13 enemy UAVs were destroyed in Dnipropetrovsk region during a Russian drone attack on the evening of January 26 and at night of January 27. However, there were consequences: infrastructure in Dnipro and one of the districts was damaged.
On January 27, Russian troops attacked the frontline town of Stepnohirsk in Zaporizhzhia region with guided bombs. Four civilians were injured - two women and two men.
In addition, the enemy shelled thee town of Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk region several times. An enterprise was hit there, and five people were injured.
