Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to destroy the enemy

On Thursday, 17 August, Russian occupation forces suffered heavy losses in the Tavriya sector of the frontline. Ukrainian soldiers seized 25 pieces of military equipment from the enemy.

In addition, the occupiers lost five ammunition depots. Brigadier General Oleksandr Tarnavsky, commander of the Tavriya operational and strategic group of troops, spoke about the situation in this area on his Telegram channel.

He also said that the aggressor country's losses in killed, wounded and captured persons over the past 24 hours amounted to 240 people. Of these, 88 Russian occupants were killed, 145 invaders were wounded, and seven people were taken prisoner by the Ukrainian Defence Forces.

According to Tarnavskyi, artillery units of our army completed 1,338 firing missions on 17 August.

Among the destroyed Russian equipment in the Tavriya sector:

- 1 tank;

- 5 ARMOURED PERSONNEL CARRIERS;

- 10 artillery systems and mortars;

- three UAVs;

- six vehicles.

It should be noted that the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that 24 combat engagements between the Defence Forces and Russian occupation forces took place on the frontline in Ukraine yesterday. The Ukrainian defenders repelled the invaders' attacks at the Kupyansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Maryinka directions.

It also became known that on 16 August, Ukraine's defenders "demilitarised" at least 480 war criminals at the frontline. In total, on the 540th day of the full-scale war, the losses of the Russian occupation army have already exceeded 256,050.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, the Ukrainian military shot down a Russian Ka-52 helicopter for the second time on the morning of 17 August. In particular, another "Alligator" was downed by soldiers of the 47th Separate Mechanised Brigade near Robotyno in Zaporizhzhia.
