Tarasova talks about working with figure skaters

Tatyana Tarasova, a famous Russian figure skating coach, proudly admitted that she physically influenced her students. According to her, coaches are obliged to shout and even sometimes beat their athletes, as this allegedly leads to better results.

Tarasova said this in an interview with Sport24. According to her, "there is no limit to the amount of cruelty allowed," and athletes make gross mistakes that can lead to injuries, among other things. That is why athletes should feel pressure from their coaches.

"There is no limit to the amount of cruelty that can be tolerated. What is this? Why can't you raise your voice? When a person makes a mistake a hundred times that can lead to a serious injury... And you can't yell at him or her? So we yell. And you will suffer for this place. What kind of blows? They don't hit you on the head with an iron gutter. You can crack your head. With great pleasure! I practiced this with my athletes, and they improved afterwards. This method is rarely used, but it is effective," Tarasova said.

Earlier, she sadly complained about the suspension of Russian athletes from international competitions, which led to a drop in the level of skaters.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Sofia Titova, the winner of the Russian Figure Skating Grand Prix among juniors, the winner of the Moscow championship and the Russian champion in jumping, refused to perform for Russia and received Armenian citizenship.
