Rodnin criticizes Lithuania

Three-time Olympic champion Irina Rodnina is outraged by the decision of the Lithuanian authorities to revoke the citizenship of figure skater Margarita Drobryazko for participating in the ice shows of Dmitry Peskov's wife Tatyana Navka. The United Russia MP called the move a real outrage against the Moscow native.

Rodnina said this in an interview with the Sport24 portal. The former figure skater noted that Drobyazko allegedly had no right to take away her passport, state awards and sports medals, and accused Ukraine's allies of a real show to attract attention.

"Drobyazko was treated terribly. This is on the conscience of those people who wanted to deprive Margarita of her citizenship. But they cannot deprive her of the European Championships. How is this possible? Who are they to keep her away? At the very least, this should be decided by the International Skating Union, not Lithuania. I perceive the whole story as a show from Lithuania. They just reminded us of themselves," Rodnina said.

Earlier, Tatyana Navka threw a real t antrum over Drobzyako's deprivation of citizenship, saying that "Lithuania is fiercely revealing its Russophobia."

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, the famous Russian figure skating coach Tatyana Tarasova literally cursed Lithuanians because of the sanctions against figure skater Margarita Drobyazko.
