"We were called names and spat at": Lucescu made a loud statement before the match against Aris

Head coach of Dynamo Kyiv Mircea Lucescu called the defeat of his team in the first match of the third qualifying round of the Conference League against Greek Aris undeserved. The Romanian specialist complained about the referee, Australian Jarred Gillette, as well as the opponents' fans.
Lucescu said this in an interview with playsport.ro. According to him, an unfair penalty was awarded to his team, while Aris fans behaved inadequately, insulting Dynamo players and putting pressure on the referee.
"That was an undeserved loss in Thessaloniki. We were awarded a penalty that wasn't there and at the same time earned a clear penalty, but it wasn't awarded. The fans behaved uncivilized. They called us names, spat at us and the referee was under incredible pressure. We want to win and get into the next round," Lucescu said.
The return match between Dynamo and Aris in the qualification of the Conference League will be held on Thursday, August 17. The game will start at 20:00 Kyiv time.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, the leadership of Dynamo Kyiv is preparing for the resignation of head coach Mircea Lucescu if the team does not reach the group stage of the Conference League.
