"We don't need them": Russia called UEFA's categorical statement about Russian Federation's return to world soccer a fake
Dyukov criticized journalists

The president of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Alexander Dyukov pretended that the head of European football (UEFA) Alexander Čeferin did not say that Russia would be able to participate in international tournaments only after the war in Ukraine ended. Despite the existence of a video recording of these words of the Slovenian, the aggressor country tried to convince the fans that this was a lie by the Western media in the best traditions of Kremlin propaganda.

Dyukov said this in an interview with the RB Sport portal. The Russian Federation President added that his organization is in constant contact with UEFA and its leaders, continuing to cooperate with the Europeans and waiting for the opportunity to return to the international arena.

"We are guided by the fact that we all speak directly. We don't need intermediaries. With all due respect to journalists, I'm used to trusting what I hear myself, not what I read in publications I don't even know. Some newspaper wrote something..." said Dyukov.

As a reminder, Russian clubs have been suspended from the Champions League, UEFA League and Conference League, with the national team banned from the qualifying tournament for the 2024 European Championship and the League of Nations.
