"We are waiting for a victorious ending": Russian national team coach who denied Russia's crimes in Ukraine threatens world sports
The head coach of the Russian cross-country skiing team, Vladimir Borodavko, has dreamed of winning the criminal war against Ukraine, which will allow the aggressor country's representatives to participate in international tournaments. He accused sports federations of allegedly imposing unfair sanctions on Russian athletes.
Borodavko said this in an interview with Championship.com. He added that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) allegedly makes decisions on the suspension of Russian athletes and the conditions for their admission to competitions under a neutral flag independently.
"It's clear who is in charge, because the IOC doesn't even send international federations wishes, but orders. And it's no secret who runs the IOC itself. I'm not surprised at all. This is just a private opinion of athletes who cannot change anything. We are waiting for the victorious conclusion of the special military operation (as the war in Ukraine is shamefully called in Russia - ed.) Only then will we consider our return," Borodavko said.
Earlier, the coach of the Russian skiers, saying "they are trying to make outcasts out of us," accused Israel of military aggression and lied about the absence of Russian war crimes in Ukraine. Borodavko also called the Russians a special people, whom the whole world should treat only with respect.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Russian Olympic champion Veronika Stepanova threatened foreign rivals with the "intelligence of a washing machine."
