American suffers first defeat in his career

American lightweight Ryan Garcia (23-1, 19 KOs) suffered his first career defeat. The fight at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas against his compatriot Jervonta Davis (29-0, 27 KOs) ended early.

After a slow first round, the fighters picked up the pace. Garcia tried to work aggressively, focusing on quick combinations. In response, Davis successfully performed an overhand, knocking his opponent down.

Gervonta was noticeably sharp and repeatedly broke through his opponent's defence, leaving him no chance. Davis worked well with his jab, breaking Ryan's nose and hitting the body several times.

In response, Ryan Garcia tried to increase his aggression. He attacked with a right hook, tried to deliver a few swinging lunges, but in response missed a seemingly imperceptible body shot. Ryan took a few steps back, but suddenly took a knee and was unable to get up.

Earlier, the father and trainer of Ryan Garcia said that he did not believe in the success of 35-year-old Vasyl Lomachenko (17-2, 11 KOs) in a fight against WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO titles holder Devin Haynie (29-0, 15 KOs).

In an interview, Garcia himself slammed Lomachenko, admitting that he had absolutely no faith in his success in the fight with Haynie.
