The Ukrainian hockey champion, who volunteered for the front, was killed in the war against the Russian occupiers

Oleksiy Loginov, a former goalkeeper of the Bilyi Bars hockey club from Bila Tserkva, was killed while performing combat missions in the Severodonetsk district of Luhansk region, the Hockey Federation of Ukraine reports. On November 25, the hero would have turned 24 years old.

Oleksiy was a member of the Sokil hockey club, with which he won the bronze medal at the 2015 Ukrainian U17 Championship. For the next two years, Loginov was in the system of another Kyiv school, Kryzhynka, and in 2017 he made his debut in the Ukrainian adult championship for the Ice Wolves from Kyiv.

After playing one match for the team, Oleksiy moved to Bilyi Bars, winning the 2018 Ukrainian Youth Championship (U20) with the team. In the adult national championship, he played two matches and won a bronze medal.

Loginov was a student at the Geography Department of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Since 2022, he worked as a geography teacher at Kyiv school No. 317. He was voluntarily mobilized and from August 10, 2023, he served in the unit 3057 of the National Guard of Ukraine. Oleksiy was the only child in the family.

Oleksiy Loginov's funeral will take place on Thursday, November 16, starting at 13:00 at Lukianivske Cemetery.

As OBOZ.UA reported, five Ukrainian hockey players have already been killed in the war with the Russian invaders: 26-year-old Yaroslav Harkavko, 19-year-old Oleksandr Koloniuk, 42-year-old Oleksandr Khmil, 2007 Ukrainian champion, 21-year-old Vladyslav Likhoshva and 24-year-old Makar Erofeev.
