The staff of the French Open tennis tournament Roland Garros-2023 desecrated the flag of Ukraine before the quarterfinal match between Elina Svitolina and Arina Sobolenko of Belarus. The tournament staff considered the banner too big to be used on the stand and cut it in half.

This is reported by the news agency Reuters. Ukrainian Anna, who came to support her compatriot, faced a strange reaction of stewards. They said the flag was more than one meter long, which is prohibited by the rules, and took away the symbols.

They returned our cheerleader a flag cut in half. "I came here to support Elina Svitolina. This is the flag that I took with me everywhere, to the stadiums, in particular at Euro 2016. Now I have two flags," Anna commented on the incident.

Recall, Sobolenko held a secret press conference at Roland Garros because of questions about the war in Ukraine. Earlier, she spoke cynically about the relationship with our tennis players. She also resented the fact that athletes are required to condemn the aggression of the Russian Federation.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, at Roland Garros-2023 there was a historical event related to Ukraine. And Elina Svitolina's victory over Daria Kasatkina caused hysteria in Russia.
