UEFA excludes Italy's most titled club from European competitions

Juventus Turin, Italy's most titled club, has been suspended from the new European Cup season due to a breach of financial fair play rules. The European Football Union (UEFA) did not allow the "old lady" to participate in the Conference League draw, where it made its way following the results of the national championship.
This is stated on the official UEFA website. The organisation noted that the Turin club had violated the settlement agreement signed last August, which led to such a harsh verdict. Juventus will also be forced to pay a large fine.
"UEFA has decided to exclude Juventus from the men's club competitions for the 2023/24 season and to impose an additional financial contribution of €20 million on the club. Of this amount, €10 million is conditional and will only be applied if the club's annual financial statements for the 2023, 2024 and 2025 financial years do not meet the accounting requirements as defined by UEFA's club licensing and financial sustainability rules," UEFA said.
It should be noted that last season, Juventus was deprived of 10 points in the national championship for financial fraud. The club finished seventh in Serie A and qualified for the Conference League. Fiorentina will now take its place in the tournament.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, UEFA has banned Turkish football club Besiktas from signing a sponsorship contract with Gazprom because of sanctions against Russians.
