The European Football Union (UEFA) has banned Ukraine's youth national team striker Vladyslav Vanat for two games. The 21-year-old Dynamo player received a straight red card for pushing an opponent in an offside situation in the second round of the 2023 European Championship group stage match against Romania (1-0).

Thus, one of the leaders of the Yellow and Blues is guaranteed not to play in the next two matches of the youth team: the 3rd round of the group stage against Spain and the 1/4 finals match.

Journalist Viktor Vatsko said on his Youtube channel that Vanat did the right thing.

"I received an insight from the camp of the Ukrainian youth team. What the Romanian footballer did was not broadcast, we were not shown a normal replay. The Romanian was provoking. And the way he provoked, the things he did rather than said - I'm sure the vast majority of Ukrainian players would have hit him for that," Vatsko admitted.

It will be recalled that Ruslan Rotan's men have already secured their place in the play-offs ahead of schedule.

In the opening match, Ukraine defeated Croatia 2-0. Oleksiy Kashchuk scored the first goal with a billiard shot, having previously beaten four defenders.

In the second round, the Ukrainians defeated Romania 1-0 in the last minutes thanks to an own goal.
