UEFA announces the return of Russia: The first teams to be allowed to participate in tournaments are named

The European Football Union (UEFA) is preparing to return the first Russian teams to its tournaments after the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. We are talking about youth national teams that can take part in qualifying tournaments for continental championships, despite the fact that their draw has already been made.
This is stated on the official UEFA website, following the results of the Executive Committee. Representatives of the aggressor country, if the technical decision on admission is approved, will play without national flags and anthem, and will play home games outside Russia.
"UEFA's ongoing suspension of Russian adult teams reflects our commitment to speaking out against violence and aggression. UEFA is determined to maintain this position until the war ends and peace is restored. But by banning children from participating in our competitions, we not only fail to recognize and support the fundamental right to their holistic development, but also directly discriminate against them," said UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin.
Earlier, the head of UEFA said that Russian teams will not return to international football tournaments until the occupiers leave the territory of Ukraine.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, the president of the Russian Premier League, Aleksandr Alaev, told the "harsh truth of life" about the return of Russian club teams and national teams to European tournaments.
