Traitor Karyakin divided Ukraine, telling what else Russia has to seize
World Rapid Chess Champion (Astana, 2012) and World Blitz Champion (Doha, 2016) Sergey Karyakin, who changed his citizenship from Ukrainian to Russian in 2009, gave an interview to Russian military propagandist Semyon Pegov, where he drew new borders. The 33-year-old native of Simferopol is convinced that Russia should seize all regions except the western ones.
According to Karyakin, Zhytomyr region should be "plus/minus Russia".
"I remember very well how in the first days after the beginning of the Euromaidan I said that we need to reach Kyiv, and after that something was attacked there. Here it is. So I won't say that I changed my views, hehehehe. Time will tell. On the Dnipro River? Everything except the western regions would be ideal, of course, because the western ones are strangers to us anyway, and Kyiv and the rest are not," Karyakin said with a laugh.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, Karyakin recently became a confidant of Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin in the 2024 presidential election. The former chess player was included in the list of people who supported Putin's nomination.
It should be noted that with the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Karyakin supported the "Special Military Operation" and demonstrated z-symbols in every possible way, for which he received a six-month disqualification from International Chess Federation.
On June 2 last year, Karyakin received a state award from the aggressor country. This event was called a real disgrace on the network and questioned the official reason for this decision by the authorities.
Last year, Serhiy traveled to Donetsk to deliver aid to the 117th rifle regiment of the "people's police" of the "Donetsk People's Republic".
