"This savagery will end": former Russian national team coach says that in the West "people will not elect fools to power"

Krikunov spoke about sanctions

Former Russian national team head coach Vladimir Krikunov is outraged by the possible expulsion of Russia from the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). Such severe sanctions are threatened to the representatives of the aggressor country because of the refusal of CSKA Moscow to recognize the disqualification of goaltender Ivan Fedotov.

In a commentary to Metaratings.ru, Krikunov expressed his hope that Russia will win the criminal war against Ukraine. The hockey coach expressed confidence that this would lead to a reshuffle of political elites in Western countries where "fools" are currently ruling.

"I don't think they will do it (expel Russia from the IIHF - ed.), it will be completely savage. When the special military operation in Ukraine ends (as the Russian Federation shamefully calls the war in Ukraine - ed.), all this savagery will end. Elections will be held in these countries, and other people will come to power. Everything will be different. These fools will go away, the people will not elect them. CSKA had to negotiate with Philadelphia. Especially since they are in touch. Why didn't they do it? They didn't find cooperation. To what extent is our KHL independent of the International Federation? If we are independent, then they are not our boss. And if we are dependent, then we should, of course, look for a compromise," Krikunov said.

It should be noted that despite the IIHF's decision, Fedotov took the ice for CSKA in the opening Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) match against Ak Bars, in which the Muscovites conceded five goals. During the warm-up before the game, the army men wore uniforms with symbols of Russia's war against Ukraine and glorification of the Espanyol terrorist group.

Last summer, Fedotov was forcibly conscripted into the Russian army to prevent him from joining the American Philadelphia Phillies. Despite the agreement with the NHL club, CSKA signed a parallel deal with Ivan.

The IIHF found the Russians guilty of breaching their contractual obligations. Fedotov was suspended from national and international competitions for four months, from September 1 to December 31. In addition, CSKA is prohibited from making any transfers until August 10 next year.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, two-time Olympic champion Svetlana Ishmuratova made a nonsense statement that the world sports community could not exist without Russia. And Olympic champion Vyacheslav Fetisov threw a tantrum and insulted the IIHF president.
