Former Lokomotiv and Torpedo president Ilya Gerkus has reacted cynically to the Palestinian Islamic movement Hamas' attack on Israel. The Russian official expressed confidence that the International Football Federation (FIFA) and the European Football Union (UEFA) should remove teams from Israel from their tournaments.

Hercus wrote about this on his Telegram channel. "Are we waiting for FIFA and UEFA to suspend the participation of Israeli teams in their tournaments 'until the end of hostilities'?" the official said.

In response, the fans reminded him that Israel was the same victim of aggression and invasion as Ukraine. "Well, of course, you're being stupid," "Were they the first to attack?", "Ilya Leonidovich, don't mix flies with cutlets. Russia is the aggressor, Israel is defending its territories", "It's too much. Almost a thousand people were shot and kidnapped in one day. We got absolutely fair in return." "It just kills me that Lavrov and the rest of the gang say 'Urgent negotiations', 'Stop the bloodshed', etc., while they themselves are f*cking around and razing Ukraine to the ground," the comments read.

Earlier it became known that the nephew of the famous footballer Yossi Benayoun killed three Hamas terrorists who attacked in time. The former Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea player himself was shocked by this event.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, Ukrainian football player Viktor Tsygankov expressed his solidarity with the people of Israel. Shakhtar Donetsk defender Stav Lemkin also reacted to the terrorist attack.
