Ukrainian goalkeeper of Benfica Anatolii Trubin took part in a rally dedicated to the two-year anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The 22-year-old goalkeeper of the national team, together with the diaspora and refugees, came to the central square of Lisbon to thank the Portuguese for everything they do for Ukrainians.

"The struggle continues. It did not start today or 2 or 10 years ago. The Ukrainian people have been defending their independence for centuries. It is important to talk about the need for support. While the war is on, the world should know and hear about us," Trubin wrote on Instagram.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, Anatolii Trubin joined Benfica from Shakhtar on August 10, 2023. The 22-year-old Donetsk native was sold for €10 million plus a €1 million bonus.

It is also reported that the team will be entitled to 40% of the cost of the player's next transfer. Trubin's contract with the 38-time Portuguese champion is for 5 years.

According to Eurostat, at the end of August 2023, more than 56 thousand Ukrainians lived in Portugal. The largest number of Ukrainian citizens was in such municipalities as Lisbon (over 12 thousand people), Cascais (over 3 thousand), Porto (almost 3 thousand Ukrainians), Sintra (about 2 thousand), and Albufeira (almost 1.5 thousand).
