Arizona Coyotes hockey player Alex Galchenyuk, 29, who was born in the United States and represented this country at the international level, but is of Belarusian origin and spent most of his youth in Russia, was arrested by the Scottsdale police (Arizona, USA). After information about the scandal, the Arizona Coyotes announced the termination of the player's contract.
"We are aware of the incident involving Alex Galchenyuk and strongly condemn such behavior. As soon as the club became aware of the allegations, we immediately began the process of terminating his standard contract through the appropriate channels in conjunction with the National Hockey League," the Arizona hockey team said in a statement.
