Three-time Olympic champion Irina Rodnina has expressed an absurd opinion that world sports "cannot live" without Russians. The former figure skater expressed confidence that soon, representatives of the Russian Federation will be returned to the tournaments of the International Skating Union (ISU).

Rodnina said this in an interview with the Sport24 portal, commenting on the consideration of the issue of restoring athletes from the aggressor country to ISU competitions, as reported by Russian propagandists. The union itself did not confirm this, noting that the suspension of the Russian team would remain in force.

"We need to understand who will represent us, who will vote, and from which countries. In general, everything will be known only when the results of the vote and the conditions under which we will be admitted are clear. As you can see, they can't live without us, but to make an assessment now without having all the information is to guess on coffee grounds. If the Russian juniors have already been returned and are allowed to participate in all competitions, then adults will probably be allowed soon. Moreover, this topic may be discussed by the executive committee," Rodnina said.
