The athlete lost her balance in the final phase of her spin and fell face first onto the ice. As a result of the accident, Anna broke her eyebrow and was unable to complete the performance, leaving the blood-soaked ice with the help of her mother.

The head of the Vologda Figure Skating Federation, Liubov Kubasova, commenting on the incident, said that Shvetsova was feeling fine and had already started training.

"She was stitched up and was also examined. No concussion was detected. The police also contacted the girl's mother and took all the explanations. Yesterday, the girl already went to training," Kubasova said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
