The Russian national football team will play upcoming matches against the teams of Vietnam and Thailand. The games will take place on September 5 and 7.
According to the press service of the Russian Football Union, the friendly tournament matches will be held in Hanoi, Vietnam, at the national stadium "Mi Dinh". On September 5, the Russians will play Vietnam. On September 7, the Russian national team will face Thailand.
The head coach of the Russian team, Valery Karpin, admitted that there was no particular choice of opponents.
"Were there other options to play in the national team? There were, but even worse. Sri Lanka, Bhutan, for example. I think it's better to play with the teams of Thailand and Vietnam there than not to play at all. Of course, I want the best, but it's unrealistic," Match TV quoted Karpin as saying.
