Early on in the fight, the American was caught on a right straight and knocked down.
VanZant managed to recover and continued the fight, in which she had an advantage for periods. Brooke was inferior to her opponent at times due to more powerful strikes, but she was more powerful and accurate.
The judges were unable to decide on the winners, giving a draw: 48-46 Brooke, 48-46 Vanzant and 47-47.
