Serbian coach faces instant karma after speaking in support of Putin
Smsraha, the multiple Estonian mini-football champion, fired its head coach Vladimir Jovanović after he wished Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin a happy birthday. At the same time, the Serbian specialist himself tried to pretend that his words in support of the Kremlin leader had nothing to do with politics.
The head of the club from Vimesi, Andrei Golovin, said this in a commentary to the Rus.ERR portal. He called unacceptable Jovanović's words wishing health and long life to the president of the Russian terrorist state, which continues its criminal war against Ukraine.
"We terminated our cooperation because of the coach's inappropriate behavior on social media. We cannot afford to have the head coach of the team behave like this at the current moment, when the war is ongoing. Jovanović understood the decision to terminate the cooperation. According to him, the post on Facebook had no political background. "We know that Serbs are more peaceful towards our eastern neighbor, and the coach, congratulating Putin, did not think that it would cause such a reaction," Golovin said.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, the media reported a serious split in the European Football Union (UEFA) over the return of Russian boys to tournaments.
