Score by a goalkeeper: a fantastic denouement in the Champions League match. Video

Lazio Rome goalkeeper Ivan Provedel became the main hero of the Champions League game day on September 19. The 29-year-old helped his team avoid defeat by Atletico Madrid at the start of the tournament by scoring a goal at the legendary Stadio Olimpico in the fifth minute of the game.
Provedal made three saves in the match but failed to deal with a shot by Pablo Barrios, allowing him to open the scoring. From that moment on, the hosts stormed Jan Oblak's goal, but the Slovenian goalkeeper did his job and did not allow the opponents to score.
Proveldel went to the Atletico penalty area to win a corner kick in the 90+5th minute. After the Spanish defenders cleared the ball out of the penalty area, Lazio midfielder Luis Alberto passed it back to Oblak, where the Italian goalkeeper made a center-forward-style head goal and equalized the score.
"Such evenings are memorable for a lifetime. I am very glad that we pulled out a match in which we did not deserve to lose. I have not yet realized what happened, later I will realize that I scored in the Champions League. We earned a point by right, now we have to move on," Provedel spoke to reporters after the game.
The Dutch Feyenoord beat Scottish Celtic 2-0 and led the quartet in another match of Group F.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Shakhtar Donetsk lost to Portuguese Porto in the first round of the Champions League with four goals in 20 minutes.
