Russian World Cup winner tells how she deals with Ukrainian women "so they don't have any problems"
Russian and Ukrainian chess players greet each other at various competitions despite Russia's military aggression against our country. At the same time, the girls allegedly do not greet each other on camera to avoid public outcry in Ukraine and pressure from their compatriots.
This was stated by Russian World Cup winner Alexandra Goryachkina in an interview with the propaganda news agency RIA Novosti. According to her, the tension between representatives of the aggressor country and Ukrainian women is exaggerated.
"It's all very exaggerated. We also say hello, but not in front of TV cameras so they don't have any problems. I am in favor of sports outside of politics. I was tuned not to fall for petty provocations and just play chess. And there were no preconditions for anything to go wrong. And in terms of chess it would probably have been a little easier for me to play with Anna Muzychuk. Because we played a lot of games, I know her well and I understand what I need to prepare for," Goryachkina said.
Earlier, the world champion in rapid chess (Astana, 2012) and world champion in blitz (Doha, 2016) traitor of Ukraine Sergey Karjakin refused to perform at the Russian championship.
As reported OBOZREVATEL, a famous Russian commentator and chess coach Sergei Shipov called Ukrainians Vasyl Ivanchuk and Ruslan Ponomarev "a product of the Soviet and Russian school".
