Russian Olympic champion urged to steal from the West and said that "there is a war without rules" against Russia

Kovalenko criticized Match TV

Olympic champion Andrei Kovalenko expressed his indignation over the showing of the 2023 World Championship matches on Russian television. He criticized the fact that Match TV bought the rights to the broadcasts, suggesting that they simply steal them in return.

The former State Duma deputy said this in a commentary for Russia-hockey.ru. The former hockey player of the Russian national team called the official broadcasting of World Cup matches "financing sanctions against himself" and added that there is allegedly "a war without rules" against the aggressor country.

"It is a big mistake on the part of TV to pay for TV broadcasts of a tournament that we are not allowed to attend. We are indirectly financing the sanctions against us. This is nonsense! Another thing is that the more sports, and especially hockey, on TV the better for the country, for the health of the people. So, in my opinion, it was necessary to do something more intelligent - to show the championship, but not to buy the rights. In today's conditions, when there's a war without rules against us, it's possible to do so - if you are slapped on one cheek, it makes no sense to turn the other," said Kovalenko.

Earlier, Olympic champion Alexander Kozhevnikov called the 2023 World Cup the championship of the yard in the absence of Russia, and also spoke insultingly about Latvia. And hockey legend Vyacheslav Fetisov considers the Russians, who discuss World Cup 2023, to be criminals.

During the tournament, the Russian propaganda television channel "Match TV" stopped broadcasting Latvian matches. The reason for this was the behavior of the Latvian fans, who had stretched a banner with the Ukrainian flag and the inscription "Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!".

Also OBOZREVATEL reported that the world champion - 2023 became a team of Canada, which in the final match defeated another sensation of the current mundial - Germany (5:2). For the Maple Leafs, it was their 28th triumph at the World Cup. Former Russian head coach Vladimir Krikunov reacted to the victory of the North Americans with the words "they won't have long to live".
