Russian Olympic champion says the world "should be ashamed" for revealing the country's doping schemes

Roman Repilov, a three-time world champion in luge, issued a ridiculous idea that international bodies should be responsible for the doping scandal involving figure skater Kamila Valiyeva. The Russian athlete actually accused the organizations of revealing the fact that the girl used banned substances.

Repilov made this absurd statement in an interview with the propaganda news agency R-Sport. According to the sportsman, the representative of Russian figure skating was allegedly punished for show and also sentenced to a four-year disqualification.

"In the situation with Kamila Valieva, the other side should at least be ashamed. The girl is small and talented, and this was a show. I don't even know what to call it... humiliation, shame. I want to participate in the Olympics, but I have very little respect for the Olympic movement. Sooner or later, our country will go to the Olympics, maybe it will be another generation. I was very worried about Kamila Valieva even at the Olympics, and I imagined what I would do myself," Repilov said.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne (CAS) found Valieva guilty of doping and disqualified her for four years. After that, the famous coach Tatyana Tarasova threw a real tantrum. She called the CAS judges murderers and pigs who allegedly destroyed the 17-year-old skater's career. The Russian national team was also stripped of its gold medal at the 2022 Olympics.
