Russian champion boxer goes to the front to kill Ukrainians
Famous Russian boxer Alexei Papin has gone to fight against Ukraine, the RIA Novosti propaganda resource reports, citing the athlete's manager Vitaly Tarasov.
"We knew about his presence in the area of the special military operation, but Alexey did not really want to talk about it. He didn't want it to look like bravado and hype," the athlete's representative said, adding that the boxer would comment on the situation himself if he deemed it necessary.
Papin is 36 years old and is the WBA Asia heavyweight champion. WAKO world champion (2011, low kick) and three-time European champion (2008, low kick; 2010, low kick; 2010, full contact). Absolute world champion in kickboxing. The boxer has 18 victories and one defeat in the professional ring.
On April 16 last year, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky enacted the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to impose personal special sanctions against Papin.
