Russia says UEFA and FIFA are "waiting for Russia to return to world football"
The European Football Union (UEFA) and the International Football Federation (FIFA) are allegedly waiting for Russia to return to international tournaments. Representatives of the organizations visited Moscow, where they held formal talks with the heads of the association of the aggressor country.
Vyacheslav Koloskov, honorary president of the Russian Football Union (RFU), said this in a commentary for the propaganda TV channel Match TV. He added that the representatives of UEFA and FIFA who came to the Russian capital did not make any decisions, but simply conveyed the position of the two organizations.
"They are just employees of this and that organization, they do not make any decisions, but the trend was clearly and distinctly stated: that they expect Russia, the national team and the clubs, to return to participation in international official competitions under the auspices of FIFA and UEFA. This was clearly evident. And I talked to them behind the scenes here, too. They, too, are waiting for Russian soccer to be fully represented on the international stage again," Koloskov said.
Recall that last summer UEFA suspended Russian clubs from the new season of the Champions League, the Europa League and the Conference League, and the national team from qualifying for Euro 2024. The sanctions are expected to be extended for the new European competition season.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, the player of the Russian national team Elvira Todua with the words "we were thrown out, it's unfair" complained about the suspension of the team from the European Women's Championship.
