Russia puts famous Russian athletes who fled to the US on the wanted list
The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has put the famous couple Sergey and Violetta Bida, who fled to the United States, on the wanted list. Both fencers are wanted under a criminal article, according to the department's search database.
The database does not indicate under which article he is wanted.
Sergey Bida is an active officer of the Russian National Guard. Violetta Bida is an active servicewoman. In June of this year, the athletes competed at the US championships without the consent of the Russian side, and then did not return to the country, staying in California.
Violetta Khrapina, 29, is the 2019 European team champion and world vice-champion in fencing (team epee). She also participated in fencing in July 2021 at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
