Russia names deadline for withdrawal from UEFA

Russia is ready to withdraw from the European Football Union (UEFA) within two years and move to the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The deadline for such a decision in the aggressor country is December 2025, when the draw for the qualifying tournament for Euro-2028 will take place.
This was stated by Denis Soloviev, vice-president of the Russian Football Union (RFU), in a commentary to the Izvestia propaganda publication. According to him, Russia, will not be able to perform at the 2026 World Cup because the Asian selection has already started and representatives of the Russian Federation are banned in the UEFA zone because of the war in Ukraine.
"If we don't qualify from Europe for the 2026 World Cup, it seems to me that we are definitely off the agenda then. And then we have to look at December 2025, when the draw for Euro 2028 will be made. If we are not included in this draw, it seems to me that a whole generation will grow up outside of international soccer. Why would we do that? We have already failed to qualify for the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup. And we probably won't get into the European one. If we don't qualify for it, there is no point in hanging around. We have to wait for the draw for the Euro-2028 qualification. If we don't get into it, then yes, I don't see the point in waiting," Soloviev said.
Earlier it became known that UEFA returned representatives of Russia in its competitions, appointing a team of referees from the Russian Federation for the women's Nations League game.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, the Russian national soccer team humiliated itself in a match with the Olympic team of Egypt, conceding two goals in four minutes.
