The former FC Lviv defender found 4 days to go to the front line

Former Ukrainian defender of FC Lviv Oleksiy Dityatiev, who left the club in July to study coaching in Kyiv, told about a trip to the south of our country. According to the 34-year-old footballer, he had a little time to go to Kherson for 4 days.

Dityatiev and his colleague are engaged in volunteering and helps pensioners who are left on the front line. Oleksiy admitted that life in Kherson is very hard.

"The Russians are on the other side of the river, that is, less than a kilometer from the center of Kherson. Every day artillery shells the city and it is difficult to take shelter from the shells. They fire the cannons and you have a maximum of 10 seconds from the shot to the shell exploding. And so it's day after day, practically hour after hour. Life there is dramatic," the player said in an interview with Polish publication Sport.se.

Dityatiev admitted that the fear present did not prevent him from seeing firsthand what the situation in the city was like.

"I wanted to help, and I think I did it. At the beginning of the war, when the Russians occupied Kherson, it was impossible to deliver anything because there was no corridor to help the civilian population. As for security, we had appropriate clothes, body armor, but no weapons, because only soldiers serving in the army have them," Oleksiy said.

As reported OBOZREVATEL, at the training camp in Turkey, Oleksiy Dityatiev ripped off the flagpole flag of Russia, which was displayed next to the Ukrainian flag.
