The two-time Olympic champion threw a real tantrum

Two-time Olympic biathlon champion Dmitry Vasiliev believes that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) should stop the National Committee of Ukraine's demands to ban Russian athletes from the 2024 Olympics. The day before, the NOC, the Ministry of Sports, and the Ukrainian Wrestling Association sent a letter to the IOC stating that Russian wrestlers should be banned from competing at the Paris Olympics.

These are Zaurbek Sidakov, Zaur Uguev, Milad Alirzaev, Sergey Semenov, Nadezhda Sokolova, Alina Kasabieva, Hanuma Veliyeva, Natalia Malysheva and Artur Nayfonov, as well as Vanessa Kolodinskaya from Belarus.

"It was Bach's team at the IOC that brought Ukraine to this lawlessness. After all, after the start of the World Cup, he was the first to call for the removal of all Russians in all sports from international competitions. And now, with the NOC of Ukraine, the NOC of each country can tell the IOC what to do. This is what Bach's policy has brought sports to," TASS quoted Vasilyev as saying.

The Russian champion is convinced that the IOC should have dealt with Ukraine.

"If the IOC was a full-fledged organization that adheres to all laws, they could have warned the NOC of Ukraine: The IOC will not tolerate this kind of behavior and instructions on what it should do. But Bach may run and follow the instructions from Ukraine," the 61-year-old ex-biathlete concluded.
