"Practically dead". Russia published "standard idiocy" about Ukraine and became a laughingstock
Former Russian sports minister Pavel Kolobkov became a real laughingstock for his countrymen after saying that sports are practically dead in Ukraine. The six-time world fencing champion gave an interview to local media, where he said that only a few people in our country glorify Ukraine on the international sports scene.
According to the former official, Ukraine allegedly annoys all foreign federations with its presence.
"Sport in Ukraine is practically dead. There are no sports there, except for a few athletes. Instead of playing sports at home, they chose a different path, which greatly irritates other countries and international organizations. This may not be written about or spoken about publicly, but the non-public attitude is clear," Kolobkov said in an interview with Sport-Express.
In the comments, the Olympic champion was met with "objections" in response, calling his words a standard of stupidity.
"What do you care about sports in Ukraine? Is everything okay with our sport?", "No matter how annoyed Mr. Kolobkov is, it's not. Unfortunately, it's Russian athletes who are isolated, while Ukrainian athletes participate in international competitions. Why this stupid gloating?", "A sample of crystal clear, unclouded moral idiocy as it is. To the Chamber of weights and measures," users mock.
