Olympic champion ends his career at the age of 26 after working in the Russian Defense Ministry

Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion in artistic gymnastics Nikita Nagorny has announced that he is going to end his professional sports career. The 26-year-old Rostov native heads the mass children's and youth military-patriotic organization Yunarmia, which is a structure of the Russian Defense Ministry.
"I caught the feeling of futility in the hall for the first time. I always promised myself to decide when to end my professional career courageously! A new stage of my life is heading, but I do not yet understand what to do with it! Emotionally as well," Nagorny wrote on his social media accounts.
Russia authorized the activities of the "Unarmia" on the peninsula after the seizure of Crimea. Since the beginning of 2023, it recruied Ukrainian youth into the RF army in other occupied territories of Ukraine as well. That is a violation of the Geneva Convention.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL, two-time Olympic champion in swimming (100 m and 200 m backstroke) Evgeny Rylov ends his career at 26 years old. The Orenburg native admitted that he doesn't believe he will qualify for the 2024 Olympics.
According to the titled athlete, he is preparing for the alternative games that Russia came up with instead of the Olympics.
