Former world heavyweight champion Denis Lebedev has once again bent over backwards for Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin. The ex-boxer, who is known for his appearances in the ring dressed as a soldier of the paratroopers, to which he has never had any connection, called the Russian president "the number one athlete."

Lebedev said this in an interview with the propaganda news agency RIA Novosti. The regime's henchman added that the future of the Russian Federation depends on Putin, and the dictator himself is allegedly the only politician in the world who communicates with sports representatives.

"Our president is an athlete himself. In general, the number one athlete is, of course, Vladimir Vladimirovich. Look how he communicates with athletes. It is very nice. What other country in the world has something like this? There has never been anything like this anywhere! And these are often young people, the future of our country, what gives us hope that everything will be fine in Russia," Lebedev said.

Readers of the Sports.ru portal reacted harshly to these words of the former world champion. They suggested that Lebedev's boxing career had negatively affected his mental abilities.
