Romantsev spoke out about May 9

The legendary coach of Spartak Moscow and the Russian national team, Oleg Romantsev, made a hypocritical statement about the victory of the peoples of the former Soviet Union over Hitler's Germany. He expressed doubts that "some more generations" would be able to avoid wars, forgetting about his country's aggression against Ukraine, for the sake of which dictator Vladimir Putin declared mobilization in September of last year.

Romantsev said this in an interview with RB Sport. The participant of the 1996 European Championship and the 2002 World Championship called World War II, which resulted in several million victims, a misfortune.

"Front-line soldiers, as a rule, did not like to talk about the war. But once we had a few drinks with Yevgeny Vesnik, a great man, actor, and soldier, and I managed to get him to talk. Only we agreed that I would not retell it later, so I keep my promise. It's unfortunate that that generation went to war. No one guarantees that some other generation won't be the same," Romantsev said.

Earlier, the former coach of the Russian national team admitted that he fainted after Andriy Shevchenko's famous goal in the Euro 2000 qualifying match.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko came to the Donbass Arena and stated the need to "restore the legendary Shakhtar Donetsk in the so-called 'DPR.
