"Must be returned to Ukraine": ex-Russian national team player tells how Russia deceives Crimea

Savin speaks out against the war

The leadership of the Russian Football Union (RFU) is trying to keep silent on the issue of Crimea and not engage in dialogue with it, as its admission to the organisation would mean complete isolation in Europe. At the same time, officials of the aggressor country are trying to carefully avoid even hints of such a development in their actions, although they are actively speaking in favour of such decisions.

This was stated in an interview with Ksenia Sobchak's YouTube channel "Caution: Sobchak", former Krylya Sovetov striker Yevgeny Savin said in an interview with Ksenia Sobchak's YouTube channel. The ex-footballer, who was included in the application for one of the national team's matches, also criticised his compatriots for their silence about the war in Ukraine.

"Crimean football is now... When I was discussing it in the Russian Football Federation, I realised that there was a clear command from the top not to raise this topic at all. Because if you accept Crimean football, it means a big scandal, which Russia does not need either. So what should Crimean football do? Return to the territory of Ukraine and play in the Ukrainian championship. A graduation with Ukrainian players is 70% of what I wanted to see. The fact that there are no responses from Russian athletes is because they are afraid to talk about this topic," Savin said.

It should be noted that Yevgeny called Russia a terrorist state, for whose crimes all Russian citizens are responsible. He also shot a large video about our footballers in Europe, after which the propagandists of the Match TV channel started harassing Savin, who was called the "Judas of YouTube".

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, legendary Dynamo Kyiv and AC Milan striker Andriy Shevchenko told how impressed he was with his first visit to the Ukrainian capital after Russia's full-scale invasion.
