Karma catches up with 4-time Italian figure skating champion for his love for Russia

Four-time Italian figure skating champion (2019-2022) Daniel Grassl may face a two-year suspension for doping. According to ASSA, the Italian Anti-Doping Prosecutor's Office has requested this period for the 21-year-old Merano native.

The European vice-champion and multiple winner of various challenges missed three consecutive doping tests. Earlier, he left the group of coach Eteri Tutberidze, with whom he had been training in Moscow since January this year. Later, Grassl withdrew from all tournaments this season.

According to media reports, Daniel informed that he would be staying in Italy, but in January 2023, saying "sport is not politics," he went to train in the Russian capital with Russian mentors.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, 18-year-old Moscow figure skater Grigory Fedorov was recently drafted into the army in Russia. Currently, the athlete continues to train in Svetlana Sokolovskaya's group at CSKA.

On November 29, well-known Russian figure skaters Annabel Morozov and Igor Eremenko, who perform in ice dancing, left Russia. They came to a scheduled training session with their coach Angelika Krylova, but instead of training, they presented her with a bouquet, saying that they had a plane to the United States in three hours.
